Find out how our fees are structured and what you can expect in terms of the cost of your psychotherapy treatment.
Uncontracted Practice
What does this mean for you?
Ithaca is an uncontracted psychotherapy practice and uses the Nza rate for the independent mental health services. This means that treatment is not fully reimbursed from basic insurance.
Check your health insurance policy terms carefully to see what percentage of treatment is reimbursed. Keep in mind that you will most likely have to pay your deductible (of at least 385 euros).
Rates for Freestanding mental health care
Nza Rates and Your Costs
There are separate rates for the independent mental health services. Thus, the rates are different (and often lower) than institutionalized mental health rates. The rates are set nationwide by the Dutch Healthcare Authority (Nza rate) In the rate finder of the Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZa) you will find all maximum rates.
Rates for Treatment Consultations
Cost Summary
At ITHACA Psychotherapy Practice Amstelveen, we charge different rates depending on the practitioner and the length of the session.
Here is an overview of the costs:
- Treatment consultation 45 minutes with a Psychologist: €118.15
- Treatment consultation 45 minutes with a GZ psychologist: €128.40
- Treatment consultation 45 minutes with a Psychotherapist: €156.72

Rate of uninsured care
There may not be a DSM-V diagnosis or one that is not covered by insured care, such as adjustment disorder or relationship problems. Then you pay a rate of €131.82 (per session of 45 minutes) falling under code OV0012 Non-basic package care consulting GGZ, as determined by the Dutch Healthcare Authority for 2024.
Cancellation/Cancellation
If you cancel your appointment within 48 hours (two business days), you will be charged 90 euros, regardless of the reason for cancellation (illness, delay, breakdown on the road, etc.). This bill is for your own account and you cannot claim it from your insurer.
